So we were driving around Salt Lake City this morning looking for a hippie dome, when I spotted these awesomely adorable Hindu deities painted all over the outside of a yoga studio.
Obviously, they're flatout copies of Sanjay Patel's originals, which he published--twice!--in his own book, Little India, and then in an expanded version for Penguin, The Little Book of Hindu Deities.
While Sanjay has branched out a bit, using his illustrations for t-shirts, posters, even stationery, I somehow doubt that he's been licensing his deities to the yoga center tucked behind The Carpet Guy.
Good proof of concept on sweet nursery murals, though.

I saw the picture and thought, "Wow! Some other yoga studio has the EXACT same picture as the one by Blue Plate." Because I am a dope.
Welcome to Utah. Enjoy the Spiral Jetty.
here it is on Google Maps; in the streetview, it's still a video store with a giant "Moving Sale" sign.
For Sanjay's sake, I hope they did get his permission.
That would suck if they just lifted his stuff like that.
I lifted Sanjay Patel's stuff too, but gave him credit of course. I linked you into this post.
