36 Pages: Craig Frazier

tall_city_36pg.jpg

If you're a fan of great children's book illustration, you probably already know about artist/author Craig Frazier's blog, 36 Pages, which features posts about the creative process, great kids books from the past and present, and occasional stories about his own works.

Right now he's leading with an awesome book by Seymour Chwast, Tall City, Wide Country. Which was, of course, published in 1983 is now, of course, out of print. Says industry veteran Frazier: "Why it isn't in print today is another example of what's confounds me about publishing, (probably Seymour as well)."

I'm sure the answer has something to do with TV tie-ins and licensing. But that's just a guess.

Frazier's own latest title, Lots of Dots, was just released this fall by Chronicle.

Thanks for the link. I had been interested in finding innovative children's books but had not yet run across this blog.
Small correction: The blog author's name appears to be Craig, not Charles.
