Haha, you know how when you're just driving along life's highway, admiring the Maysles brothers' documentary filmmaking genius, and you suddenly get sideswiped by a passing editorial bemusement at unusual coloring books. And when you pull over to check the damage, a Maui massage therapist and/or his personal injury lawyer/wedding planner boyfriend approach you with a gift bag. Seems they have just left an imaginary cocktail party at the Bouvier Beale house, where they were presented with a lovely three-volume set of Grey Gardens coloring books, signed by the Artist, even, would you have any use for them?
And then they disappear, and you turn back to your car to find a raccoon named Buster Old Pal has pounded out the dents and climbed into the bemusement basket and pedaled off toward Montauk, and you're left wondering what's going on, is any of this real, and yet on the bright side, at least you're not the craziest person on the planet, so you've got that going for you. And plus, now you have these sweet coloring books.
That ever happen to you?
