Malaysian Dads Love The Drypers

Did you know that for a while there in the early 1990s, Drypers were the next big things in diapers? It's true. A startup founded by three guys in Texas was growing like crazy, putting pressure on the diaper industry's big boys, doing business magazine covers and IPO's, all that 90's stuff, until Procter & Gamble sued them into bankruptcy for infringing on some Pampers patent or other.

An old-line contract manufacturer, Associated Hygiene Products, picked up the pieces and has kept the Drypers brand name alive and well. In Singapore and Malaysia where, if these commercials are to be believed, all the diapers are bought and changed by dads. Singapore is sort of like Paradise Island, but in reverse.
