Oh, My Aching Rack!

If you see a Motrin ad that offends your delicate mothering sensibilities, don't get mad, and don't get even. Get a boob job!

This has been a public service announcement from Motherhood Uncensored [dot net, remember] and The Imperfect Parent. [via gawker]

I get it -- they're ticked... but what's their point?

You know how dadblogs, including this one, are often host to our ventings about the baby industrial complex's utter cluelessness and tonedeafness about dads and how to market to us (or their lack of understanding that we're even a target market)?

That's what's underlying this. They were marketing to moms, and they totally misread their audience and the tone and content of their pitch, and it backfired horribly.

This second ad has confirmed my opinion of the first one (about the baby wearing.) That opinion is: some people are turkeys, and I'm not going to be offended by turkeys, because they don't know any better.

(Hey, Greg, are you looking forward to dozens of Motrin-employed people coming to your blog and stridently defending the company?)

Some people are turkeys, eh?
