Obviously it's kind of beat, but I'd never seen this edition of the exhibition catalogue for The Family of Man. Now I found it, with Leo Lionni's cover, for just a dollar.
The opening sentence from Carl Sandburg's prologue:
The first cry of a newborn baby in Chicago or Zamboagno, in Amsterdam or Rangoon, has the same pitch and key, each saying, "I am! I have come through! I belong! I am a member of the Family!"
Previous Family of Man posts include: Wayne Miller's family in The Family of Man
Funny, I just bought this exact same edition (also for the Lionni cover) here in The Netherlands at a second-hand furniture/book shop within a few days of your post.
