When you have a website called Daddy Types, you're pretty aware of how often you talk about how fun it is to play with bears.
These little carved wood bears from Germany, which roll back onto their feet on their own, definitely clear the bar.
Roller Bear Family, at Die Buntspechte, EUR54,90 [buntspechte.eu via dt reader sara]
The only thing that would make these little bears better would be a hand rubbed danish oil finish.
For as modern as these little bears are, the rest of Buntspechte's products are VERY Bavarian (ie, coo coo clock). Odd really.
These are the Weebles http://www.hasbro.com/playskool/en_GB/weebles/ for refined tastes aren't they?
Very pretty.
Funda, those things aren't Weebles, THESE are Weebles!
The new Weebles are just like Americans now versus 30 years ago. Bigger, fatter, and move less.
Just don't ask me what these are. :/
When I was a child, a friend of mine had the Weeble Haunted House, which came with a glow-in-the-dark ghost. THAT was the coolest Weeble play set I've ever seen.
Totally off topic, but he also had the entire "Planet of the Apes" action set and line of figures from his older brothers. Sweet!
hear hear, vater. totally agree with you on the Weebles. those strange British Weeble impostors must be investigated. Considering what the English have done with our language, I'm not surprised to see warped, knockoff Weebles, too.
Wait, wait - this one is in my everworking brain toy-inventory! You can get them from the Wooden Wagon for a mere $90:
