Time Magazine reports that "nearly half" of the 17 pregnancies this year at Gloucester High School turn out to be part of a pregnancy pact, a group of under-16 girls who set out "to get pregnant and raise their babies together."

...anyway...the Gloucester Times reported on the pregnancy pact back in March. That article mentions Spears as well as Juno and Knocked Up. A more recent article hints that some blame may lie with the fact that the high school has a day care (which, incidentally, isn't prepared to take in 18 babies [newly reported number of pregnancies]).
But also: "The idea isn't a new one, though. According to Bill Albert, deputy director of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, 10 percent to 15 percent of teen pregnancies are intended."
