Arbitrage Opportunity: Eames Elephant Gets $800 Spread

eames_elephant_nyt.jpg

You remember that limited edition Eames plywood elephant that Vitra's selling this summer for 1,000 euros? According to The New York Times, it will be $1,900 US.

Even at current, woeful exchange rates of $1.30/euro, that's an almost $800 spread [don't forget your 19% VAT refund!]. For every ten of them I buy and flip, that'd be, lessee...eighty hundred dollars!

So please kindly send me the names of ten of your friends who wish to buy $2,000 plywood elephants.

I'm a sucker - I'll buy three if you can get your hands on them. Prefer 2 natural and 1 red, but beggers can't be choosers.

If you don't actually have one, any idea where I can get one (some)?
