Audi unveiled a new five-door SUV concept car, the Cross Coupe, at the Shanghai Auto Show this week. According to Jalopnik, it's slated to be slotted into Audi's seeming infinite avant/quattro/suv lineup as the Q5. Someday.
It has a 2.0L TDI engine that puts out 209hp and gets 5.9l/100km, or 40mpg. It has 20" wheels, three settings--sport, offroad, and eco, which optimizes fuel economy and emissions and even turns off the a/c--and a rollback cloth roof. If it ends up with just two rear seats, as shown, it will be of little concern to a young family, though, I think. We'll see.
Jalopnik has a couple of galleries of intro photos and the Shanghai reveal, plus the press release. [jalopnik]
Looks supiciously like the X-3, doesn't it? Also, sounds like it's going to be a little underpowered with a 2.0 TDI. I drove the 3.6 Q7 a few weeks ago and felt that was a little sluggish too.
'Cause you know I need all that power to maneuver the cobblestone streets of Tribeca.
