Gallery 1998 announced Plush Week would start Feb. 7, I was stoked. A bunch of leading plush designers, all curated into a group show? Tasty. Except that literally nothing but the participant list turned up online until now. Vinyl Pulse has photos of the installation and individual images of the dozens and dozens of plushy creations.
While it's too late to buy a lot of these specific creatures, the show's a great way to familiarize yourself with some really promising designers' work. One nice discovery that combines the whole cuteness factor with the banality of nostalgia for one's childhood: Heidi Kenney's plush carton of neapolitan ice cream, complete with three sets of plaintive eyes: strawberry, vanilla and chocolate.

I'm glad you mentioned Heidi Kenney! I bought a "toast" for my husband and it is even better in person than I thought it would be. Really nice work. :)
[good to hear, because there have been supply problems with plush toast in the past. Kenney's website is mypapercrane.com.
