Here are two new websites that look like they'll be well worth some regular visits:
Parenthacks is an open-eyed, practical parenting blog [first suggestion: BUY A TIVO!!!] run by a mom named Asha. I'd worry more about the name, but since her husband Rael edits the Hacks series for O'Reilly, I'm guessing a book deal is thisclose.
Babygadget.net, meanwhile, is design and gear, and is put out by the popgadget folks. A little girly, but that's a feature, not a bug. This Gund plush laptop for infants? A perfect, evil discovery. And a great way to prepare the kid for playing with your laptop that much sooner.

Babygadget.net [via dt reader christy]
That's a nice laptop and all, but nothin' but the real thing for my girl:

Babygadget looks promising, but I am a little underwhelmed by Parenthacks...
[yeah, there IS the suggestion to fry your kid's Cheerios in butter to increase their calorie intake; but wouldn't it be easier to just feed them a tablespoon of butter? -ed.]
I am the first to admit that I am not a professional blogger, but I am taking a stap at the daddy blog myself. Take a look at dadhacker.blogspot.com. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
Regards,
Jamie
I wasn't overwhelmed with Parenthacks. Yes, partly the frying (Nestle!) Cheerios in butter thing, but partly the tone. It's very much in the lifehacker style of "Do this, it will work" vein, which I'm happy to accept when I'm fixing my car or sorting my emails, but with the kid...nah. I'm sure we all get a lot of that "I know best" attitude as it is, without needing to get on the internet.
