Apparently, Bugaboo did not invent parent-facing strollers after all. Picasso did. This 1950 sculpture, Woman With Baby Carriage, is currently on view at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC.

This is actually an excellent artist's rendering of a later-1940s Thayer, which Picasso had undoubtedly seen (or possibly even used; his kids were born around this time). Same cool bend around the sides.
Or maybe Thayer stole the design from Europe . . .
I just bought one of these strollers at a car boot sale!
