Quinny Buzz: Yet Another Euro-Stroller You Can't Get Here

quinny_buzz.jpg

Several DT readers--or should I call them readres--abroad have sent links to the Quinny Buzz, a sleek, new 3-wheeled stroller from the large Netherlands-based childrensgear company.

quinny_buzz_dad.jpgVisually striking, with a tough seatframe and safety bar floating above a tripod frame, the Buzz looks like the illicit offspring of a Bugaboo's latenight encounter with a Stokke Xplory. But this is one little bastard you can be proud of.

The Buzz's sales pitch begins with an innovative, automatic, one-handed fold/unfold mechanism. If that's unfold-and-go innovation, that's great; it looks like you may have to attach the seat separately. [If I'm skeptical, it's because they also say it's "light" at 12kg, which is like saying a movie ticket is "cheap" at £10.00. Do the math.]

From the movie, at least, the Buzz looks great, like a solid contender for the second generation of cool, ruggedized, dad-friendly strollers. The seat faces forward or backward, like the Frog, and it readily takes my favorite car seat, the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio.

If any euro-dads have firsthand experience with the Buzz, please drop me a line.

Check out the Quinny Buzz site.

Again, almost no web mentions. This Czech stroller site [Yeah, I know, whatever.] says they're available in 2005 for around 13,790 Koruna, which I'm sure everyone calculated in their head before I can even type it ($557). Meanwhile, BabyLaarbeck.nl is taking orders for January delivery (in NL) at EUR369, or $470.

bad link---doesn't load

Yeah the link is broken.

Here's another thing that may piss you off too: The Maxi Cosi Cabrio attaches to the Quinny Buzz.

http://www.maxi-cosi.nl/html/es/671.html

thanks. it's fixed now.

What about the Quinny Zapp? Looks to be great folding chair? Also holds Maxi-Cosi Cabro...

Those stroller designers must be smoking something great over there - what good is a stroller that folds to the size of a $600 check if the seat is still 2 foot by whatever - what the hell are you going to do with the seat??

I watched the video (complete with FatBoy Slim musical accompaniments, rather like the Koelstra site..) where they repeatedly show the thing folding and unfolding sans seat.. er, hello??...

It folds with the provided seat. Just not with the Dreami or the Cabrio attached.

The Buzz & the Zapp are due to be delivered in February 2005. The reason for the delay is that a different manufacturing process is required for the UK, due to British Standards being different to those in any other country in the world.(If you buy one from another country, you would be buying a product that does not conform to BS and would therefore not be guaranteed in the UK).

The pushchair is shown in the video without the seat unit attached in order to show the revolutionary folding mechanism more clearly - when it is folded with the seat unit attached, it does not take up much more space than without.

Whilst the pushchair is suitable to be used from birth, it is obviously intended to be used with either the Cabrio car seat or the Dreami carrycot for the first few months for the safety, comfort and security of your baby. Both products are shown in the new Dorel UK catalogue, which is now available in nursery shops.

Any chance of getting this in the US?? This looks awesome!

Hi all,

I was just off to spend my cash in the sales on the Jane Powertrack 360 when I found this site. It was here that I came across the Buzz and, after spending weeks researching and finally make my mind up,I was put back to square one again!!
Well,I went to the shop to see what the nice lady had to say. She was Very helpful. They went to the trade show last year where it was previewed and two of her friends bought them out of all the stollers there.
Even though its not in the country yet she offered me discount and gave the option to change it should we not like it. At £459 for the cot, Maxi-cosi car seat and Buzz it seems like a good deal.

I will update once it arrives! (due middle of Feb)

The Buzz looks awesome. Any feedback from buyers on this yet? Also, any shops in UK or Europe that have reasonable shipping to US?

Thanks,

Neel

Buzz-Off....
I wouldn't wait for the Quinny Buzz. Having had had my eyes set on it inorder to differ from the NY frog mania I went to Germany this X-Mas. We stocked up on all the cool Euro baby-gear (Maxi Cosi Cabrio, Tummy Tub etc.). We went to the local Baby-Mega-Markt and put the Buzz side by side with the Frog. What a disappointment!!! The buzz is super big, wheel base is considerably wider than frog, it's parts/materials are ugly and most off all it's damn heavy! My wife held both the frog's and buzz's base under each arm and couldn't even really handle the buzz. Moreover the buzz's buttons and mechanics are inferior. Not a good competition for the frog/chameloen.
Obviously we ended up buying the frog.

After British Airways thrashed my Jane powertrack 360 a month ago, on a trip from London to Barcelona, (their insurance for strollers only covers up to 80 Eu. I paid 350! and I'm still waiting to hear from them.) I found myself shopping around for a new stroller. After much physical research at many shops in Barcelona,(where I live) I decided for the Quinny buzz.

The website add seemed a bit too good to be true but once you get to a shop to test it, you realize it's actually true. I've had it for two weeks now and so far I have nothing but praises for it. While folding it is a bit harder than they claim, once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake. unfolding it on the other hand, is simply great. One light pull and up it comes by itself. like magic. Quite handy when your kid's throwing a temper tantrum and you want the stroller ready. It's about the same weight as the jane powertrack but it's far superior in functions and maneuverability. The big back wheels come off with an easy click if you need to make more room. the price included a baby bag and rain cover. The chair can be place toward or away from you and the top is long enough to provide a good shade in the summer time. No need to attach umbrellas that children eventually wind up breaking. I paid 340 Euros for it but some places had it for as high as 400. I really love its slick futuristic design. It makes heads turn even in a super design influenced city as Barcelona. I'll write more about the buzz in a couple of months. Once in the shop, I honestly thought the frog looked too square and unstable compared to the buzz.
For those who love Spanish made and designed Jane, try to buy the new model Slalom which has some good improvements.(they could have done more though..) I was never truly happy with my Jane, the air pump was useless, the hand brake had to be regulated more often than I wished, the seat didn't go as far as to form an L shape so my kid had to hold on to the cross bar to be able to sit up straight and the gizmo where you attach the umbrella fell off after only a couple of weeks of use. I also spent about 80 euros to buy extra padding, rain cover and umbrella.

Hi all, sorry to barge in, know this is a dad's site but just had to find out if anyone knows why it is 369 euros on the continent yet in blighty they are charging us the grand sum of £299.99. (for the whole kit and kaboodle it is £529.96!) it looks fab and we are going to have to buy it but cant help feeling like i am being taken for a bit of a ride. rolly, can you say who you ordered it with for that price?? nothing anywhere close on english web sites. ta very much

The ikhebeenkleine.nl/ website that is mentioned above does offer the Buzz at an attractive price however the only way those guys are willing to accept payment is money transfer in advance. Anyone had any experience with them?

Can somebody please explain the Buzz folding mechanism? and, can it be folded with only one hand, unfolded with only one hand? plus, isn't it too heavy to pick up with one hand?
thanks

The Buzz needs two hands to fold but it unfolds with only one (or even one foot), as it is gas powered (like an office chair). If you fold the chassis without the seat unit attached, it can be picked up quite easily - with the seat attached, then it is obviously heavier. Also, the reason that it is more expensive in the UK than on the continent is because British Standards require it to be manufactured to a higher standard, therefore increasing the cost price. Blame the government, not the retailers!

Hi, does anyone know if there is a shopping basket or anywhere for you to put your stuff on the Quinny buzz? Or indeed the frog for that matter!

With Quinny Buzz, there is no area for shopping bags etc. but you can get a clip to attach to the handle so you can hang things off it. I didn't check this on the Bugaboo but am sure there will be plenty of pros here who can enlighten us!

I am going for the Quinny Buzz because it's so easy to fold and unfold and as we have a car oriented life style, this is essential. I tried folding and unfolding the Bugaboo at the store and it was a nightmare (compared to Buzz). I do love Bugaboo and probably will have opted for this one if I didn't get in and out of the car so much. It is beautiful and every big of the Bugaboo is well made.

Quinny is slightly heavier but it's a weight I can manage. If and when we travel then we will get a lighter one that folds and unfolds easily.

My wife and I have been checking out the buzz (along with every other pram/pushchair), and we've found two disadvantages for our lifestyle...

1) is the lack of a shopping basket
2) the buzz box isn't very functional when compared to other changing bags.

Someone mentioned you can get clips (to hang your shopping on) for the buzz but does anyone know where from?

Has anyone any experience of putting a newborn in the buzz when fully reclined? I'm not sure I can visualise it! Also, is it really 'tall' enough to take a 4 yr old with the sun canopy out?

I am not sure where you can get the clips from but email the company - they should be able to sort you out.

RE newborn in buzz when fully reclined...I haven't seen a newborn but asked the same question to the sales person - you CAN recline the seat on the buzz however the baby's feet will stick up in the air! That's why they sell the dreami cot and encourage the use of maxi cabrio as a temporary solution for short journeys.

We received our quinny buzz last week, I can't stop playing with it. It's a shame that the british standards thing applies - this means you can only get the pushchair in three colours. We imported one from holland in blue mist - it's gorgeous.

Easy to put up and fold down, doesn't seem to stand up on it's end though, which is a shame. The buzz box is small, but I've bought a bag with an adjustable handle that will slide over the handle of the pushchair. Can't get a parasol to fit on it, the side bars are an odd shape, so hoping the visor on the maxi cosi will do the job.

This is a nice bit of kit. I can't believe how enormous some travel systems seem in comparison. We recently went to France and saw quite a few of them being pushed down the seafront in Nice, we thought they look pretty cool and very comfortable.

I'll be traveling to Paris and Barcelona soon and am wondering if anyone can recommend stores in either city where I can buy a Buzz. Thanks in advance.

So if a parasol doesn't fit on it, what do you do when the sun is shining in front of you hence sun shade on the top is useless? Just a thought.

I've heard less than good things about the rain cover...that it's a struggle to get it on, and you have to take the whole thing off when you get in to a shop etc, there's no way of opening up part of it. Anyone got any experience of that?

Finally, for those with toddlers...is the upright position of the pushchair upright enough? It looks quite far reclined to me, but I'm a first time mum to be and don't trust my judgement on this.

I've been struggling between the Jane 360, Bugaboo and the Buzz. I like the Buzz WAY more but just have a couple of niggles I'd be grateful for your thoughts on.

It's a neat bit of kit, that's for sure!

I'm considering the Buzz, but have also considered the Maclaren Mac3, (I have seen the reviews, so am aware of the drawbacks) for its ability to be a semi-jogger. Does the Buzz look like it would be stable enough for jogging as well? It mentions that the front wheel can be locked--which is usually a sign.

Also--way OT, but, does anybody know what Maclaren's plans are for its next 3 wheeler? It discontinued the Mac3 for 2005, and a local retailer here said they're in the works with a new one--just curious if I should hold out. Thank you! :)

Hi,
I just happened to read all your questions about the quinny buzz. I've ordered one from www.babybestellijn.nl. They're cheap and will send anything anywhere.

Ciao

HI all - this has been great reading reviews on the BUZZ - I am toying with the idea of buying one and my husband is sold, he loves it. I obviously have a few niggles (as women do).
* no shopping basket!! and clips can be dangerous as they can cause the pushchair to tip backwards (yes/no??)
* Is the hood that is comes with sufficient as a sun canopy? (If there are no sun canoies that fit it!)
* They say the pushchair seat goes almost flat but when i saw it the whole seat tilts back as opposed to the back rest moving back in a flat position - therefore baby is still in bent position!!?
* I have also been told 2 different things that it can and cant be folded with the seat/car seat on!??
* Lastly - PRICE - like others would love to get this as cheap as pos - any websites??? What is the situation with guarantee if something went wrong? British standards and all??! Also, what would it be missing or how is it different if buying from overseas?
Look forward to any comments
Thanks, Chez

Hi there need some help please,I am swithering between buying the Quinny Buzz or Zapp. My son is 2 yrs old and am unsure to which buggy would be more suitable for him - unsure if the Buzz is for kids this age. I really like the Zapp too but please help me decide on which colour - Black or Steel Blue? Help me pleeaaassse! Thank you.

The buzz cannot be folded with the Maxi Cosi car seat on it; you have to remove first. Unlike the Bugaboo, however, it comes with the Maxi Cosi adapters standard.

I tried both strollers before opting for the Frog, in part because our baby was born in November and at that time the Buzz was still vaporware in Belgium, where I live. The Buzz is somewhat cheaper, but in some ways _felt_ cheaper--the style of the buttons, the feel of the materials somehow felt less solid. That said, both seem brilliant strollers (my operational experience with the Buzz is limited to pushing it around a store and folding/unfolding it, whereas I've been using the Frog now for 5 months...).

The Buzz is easier/better to fold/unfold. The Frog takes a certain knack, and once you learn it it's much easier than at first, but even folded its pretty big.

On the Buzz/Zapp question, they're two different worlds. The Zapp costs half as much, folds much smaller, and is somewhat less stable, being more upright. The seat does not recline either. I think of the Zapp as a 21st-century umbrella stroller--a great little thing for traveling and when space is at a premium, but probably not the most comfortable stroller for everyday use. I'm debating buying it as a second stroller, which is really how it is probably intended to be used.

Does anybody actually read the e-mails on this site - NO !!

To Nicki:
I have the zapp in steel blue and it's gorgeous! we use it daily for our 20 month old...great stroller...
can be tippy though- but what isn't with a giant diaper bag hanging from it....
Best wishes,
Bekka

We bought the Quinny Buzz including the Dreami Cot and a MaxiCosi Cabrio in Germany. The price was 399 for the Buzz, 159 for the Dreami and 115 for the Maxi Cosi - all in Euros. But remember you can get 16% VAT back if you are not a resident in the EU.

We opted for the Buzz because it looks young, it can be pushed around easily through tight corners, it is easy to clean, highly versatile (all directions) and light/compact.

If someone says the buzz is heavy, they haven't carried a normal European (Teutonia/Emmaljunga) pram yet. Size-wize, it folds very small, especially if you take off the wheels.

The only downside is the lack of a basket underneath of the seat to put everything. The buzz box does not really replace it. But other than that - I find nothing to complain about.

Want to buy the Quinny Buzz but have reservations regarding the car seat. Is there a car seat base that goes with the Maxi Cosi. I don't want to spend time messing with car seat belts everytime I want to take it in and out of the car.

the maxi cosi doesn't have a base, which is why we got it in the first place (we figured we'd use it most in taxis, where you're not going to have access to a base). The result, though, is what you say, "messing around" with seat belts, which we don't find is that bad at all.

posted a message here a few months ago, and we went for it and bought the buzz. very happy indeed, baby is not due and we are trying to stop ourselves taking it out for a test run. have had to make do with the lounge, am too scared of someone trying to look at the 'beby' and finding it empty, was very easy to open and close, had a bit of a rugby tackle with the car seat attachments but got there in the end. as everyone else says, the only draw back is that the buzz box is too small for anything really. they need to do a co-ordinating changing bag or rucksack and give the bag clips away as standard

hi, i have read comments about where to buy bag clips from for the buzz, i have had the bugaboo frog, and sold it in favour of the buzz, the only down side for me was the lack of shopping basket, so i tried the bag clips from the bugaboo, and they are fine.......i don't think there are any official ones for the buzz yet, but the frog ones are fine, slip the frame a bit when there isn't a bag attached, but not a great problem!.

Have read all the comments and have decided that I going to get a buzz. The only bad news is that they are about to be released in Australia for $1500 which is more than the bugaboo. I couldn't believe it.... I have been to a few international website to order but am unsure which is the best and cheapest. Any emails with websites would be greatly appreciated.

We just got 'THE BUZZ' and from first hand experience this thing is fantastic! I thought the 'Bugoboo Frog' was flimsy, not put together well enough to hold something as precious as my little bundle of joy-and let me tell you i raced a 'Frog' and we left it standing, the 'Buzz' speeds round bends and small spaces with such ease! Okay, so it's a little heavier, but it folds down and springs back up so easily you could do it with your eyes closed. We love that the dreami carry-cot and maxi cosi car seat clip on and off the frame with just the touch of a button and if the wheels seem bulky when putting it into your car boot, they pop off with the touch of a button too-easy! While the 'Buzz' seems bulkier than the 'Frog', i have a small car, and an equally small boot, but the 'Buzz' frame and the detached dreami carry-cot fit in there perfectly! This is the latest, must have item on every new mum/dads shopping list! We love it!

I'm thinking of getting a Buzz (easy but a rip off in the UK)... The main problem seems to be the lack of travel bag - Can the skip hop bags be attached to the buzz?

Any help appreciated.

To make extra space on the buzz, I have a shopping net available from clippasafe.co.uk (or boots in the UK for approx. 3.99gbp) which can either be attached to the handlebar or better, to the back of the seat. Hope that helps.

Hello,
Just purchased the Buzz stroller from Sears here in Canada for $400 cdn (187 gbp or 272 euro). My 8 month old son loves the thing, fell asleep in it right away, gave me a chance to test the recline position, works very well. We shopped the specialty stores and really wanted the Bugaboo, but at almost $1000 cdn for the system, it was almost double the Buzz. And I don't know why anyone would complain that the weight of the Buzz is too much, compare it to any of the mass produced Graco, Safety 1st, Peg Perego strollers and the Buzz is a light weight, easily carried with one hand. Besides most of the time, its being loaded into the car and out, not being carried around.
Downside is the lack of storage space, but a simple bag slung over the handles will help, but again its a stroller not a shopping cart. Also, only the dark navy blue colour is available.

Nice material, the fold flat design, and the price all get praise! Its only been out in Canada for 2-3 weeks, but I'm sure it'll sellout quickly.

Hello,
I am trying to buy the buzz, but can't find any company that will email me back, regarding returning it if I am unhappy with it. I live in the California and will be spending around $1000 for everything, so I want to be sure I can return it if something is wrong. can anybody help me?
any suggestions on a reliable company?
thanks
Jason

We have a 9 month old daughter here in the U.S. We currently have a Peg Perego Venezia, which I find very cumbersome and hard to steer and push, as the handle is quite low. I have tried the bugaboo in the shops....love it......too pricey. I haven't tried the Quinny as they aren't avail here yet. Are they good on all-terrain? Will they push through gravel/stones like the bugaboo? Also, ARE the bag clips I read about on this site avail? It seems like the bin is small-ish underneath.
Thanks

Hi Folks,

Finally made the decision to purchase the Quinny Buzz. Baby due in 6 weeks or so. I set the whole thing up over the weekend, and when the Dreami carry-cot is fitted to the frame, it appears as if the head end of the carry-cot is slightly higher than the foot end. Anyone else notice this? The tyres haven't been inflated to the correct pressure yet, but I don't believe that it is going to raise the tail end by that much.

Anyones comments greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Daragh

For all those potential Buzz-buyers...as with most things there are pro's and con's, I have read a lot of negative experiences with the Buzz in Holland I would not like to keep from you... The Buzz appears to show some serious wear and tear relatively quickly (within weeks sometimes after using it 3 or 5 times or when leaving the store!!!). It has problems with the front wheels (creaking of PLASTIC!!! axes)and creaking of the whole undercarriage. Even (some) sales persons warn for the relatively weak undercarriage...

Hi:

I plan to buy the Quinny Buzz in Toronto - I've seen it at a few places and the price is fine ($469-499 Cdn). I want to order the Maxi Cosi car seat and have it shipped to Canada. I know it is not yet approved here, but from what I read safety is not a problem. Has anyone else in Canada/the U.S. ordered the car seat from abroad and ensured that it works fine with the stroller?

Thanks!

Kara,

The cabrio definitely slots straight in to the buzz frame with its adaptors. The buzz comes with the very simple adaptors for the cabrio (and carry cot).

I imported my Cabrio from the following guys, and they were efficeint and quick delivery 2-3 wks

http://www.babytrader.co.uk/

Dear Kate:

Thanks very much. I haven't opened the box yet from Sears to check to see whether there are adaptors - I wanted to make sure I could mix and match countries of origin!

What did customs charge you? :-)

Kara

The Zapp is fantastic as a lightweight buggy. It is the easiest thing in the world to lift your carseat out of the car onto the Zapp frame. Then at 6 months, babe sits upright in it, and with the use of an insert sheepskin thingy for added support, it works fine. Its easy to push, and the mauve one is lovely.
The lack of shopping basket stops me buying as much, which can only be a good thing!

I have been testing out the Buzz in store and it seems great except that when you collapse it (to put into a car), the only way to strap it closed and keep it closed is to remove the seat part of the buggy. The salesperson didn't know any other way to keep it closed. Has anyone had this problem or was it just a defect of the instore model?

We went stroller shopping and finally decided on the Buzz. There was only one in the warehouse and we were quoted delivery time of up to 60 days?! Fortunately we were ready to order, but is there a new model coming out soon by any chance?

Here in Italy there is no lack of fashionable strollers, and I was hesitent to spend 500 euros on something just to make a fashion statement, but I have to say I was very impressed by the design and quality of the Buzz. The only thing I could find to complain about was the fact that there is no latch or button to keep it closed when it's been folded down. The salesperson showed us a dinky little strap that you can clip on to keep it from popping up, but it seems more of an after thought than anything else. I general though, I think we made a great choice.

Hey all, I have posted my 6 month view on the Quinny Buzz at my site: http://www.neosophic.com

I was inspired by the guy from brainybug.com whom we met at the park. Lovely people.

Looking for a car seat that fits into the Quinny Buzz, but has a car seat base to simply click it into the car?? Or if a universal base is made which would fit the Cabrio Maxi-Cosi car seat into the car without the hassle of seatbelt attachments??

We went for a flame red Maxi Cosi Cabrio. Their iso-fix mounting version still isn't/wasn't out when we were buying, and to be honest, it costs twice the price, so I'm not sure I'd have bothered anyway. That said, the regular Maxi Cosi Cabrio is a doddle to put into the car, very well designed. You can get it in and secure in less than 30 secs, without rushing. I love it.

see?

As for the Buzz itself, we picked up a flame red buzz, plus the matching dreami-cot, and very hi-tech matching foor muff (sleeping bag almost). It's been great. Seems sturdy, easy to use, fits in the boot (trunk) though you'd need a big car to get the dreami-cot in there too. Only problem I've found is that it's not keeping air in its tires. Not a problem now, as Ali is still a tiny little boy, but I imagine it'll be problematic eventually. Must talk to the Glasgow pram centre about that.

Sorry for the double post, just noticed anto's question.

Anto, I've never used the strap thing to keep it closed, it seems to stay closed all by itself without the need to strap it down. Sounds like the store has some sort of faulty hydraulic thing or something. I've been just the strap thing to carry the odd shopping bag.

Daragh, it's meant to be a little higher at the head end. It's the way the dreami-cot is designed, lets you see your baby whilst pushing. My son loves it, sleeps better in the dreamcosi than his cot. :)

Would anyone with a Buzz be willing to measure the height of the handle bar when in its highest position? We cannot seem to find info on the height of the bar. Thanks much

Sorry to intrude on the Dad's site...we are about to purchase the Quinny Buzz and Maxi Cosi and all corresponding paraphernalia but am confused about whether there is a "base" to the Maxi Cosi (and whether I can order two - one for each car). If there isn't a base (We live in California), can we use it as a car seat in our cars? Is there a universal base that can be used as a substitute? We intended to make our purchase through www.babycare.nl - other suggestions? Last question: any attachments for storage? Many thanks, Dads! I love your site and insight!

[thanks. the cabrio doesn't have a base and isn't designed to be used with one. you lash a lap belt around it, and it meets the same (EU) gov't safety standards as the seats with bases. -ed.]

Hi,

To all people who are concidering bying a Quinny Buzz beware that there some bugs in this item.

After a few weeks of normal use you're very likely to enter the following problems.

cranking wheels, blocking frontwheel, instable frame esspecially when your child get's bigger and get's more weight( the frame torses around the z-axes, instable adaptors for the maxi cosi and maxi cosi dream.

i speak from personal experience and just want to warn you.

on the site is a page were a lot of people complain about this product it's in dutch but if someone is interested i could translate it for him/her.

The company that makes this product is called Dorel and they know about the bugs in this unit.
At the end of 2005 they will launch a new (and hopefully improved) version of the Buzz and also a few extra items for it like a shopping basket and an umbrella that filts on the frame.

I just returned mine to the shop today after it was returned from Dorel for the 3th time.

The salesman had a hard time to get an aprovel from the manufacterer to refund me on this, so i can immagine that when you order one from a dutch site and get it shiped you wil have even more difficulties to get it fixed of even get a refund.

Anyway this was just something i had to share.

regards,
Mike

ps.
Sorry for the bad english but i'm dutch

Everybody focuses on the Quinny Buzz, but what about the Quinny SpeediSX? Any good?

Roger

Hi All,

We've just bought a Quinny Buzz as I thought they looked quite compact and functional all round. Loved the idea of the spring action. Although needs accessories.
It hasn't been delivered yet. Has anyone anything good to say about them? When is the new version coming to market?

T

David, I am looking to purchase a Buzz (in Aus) sometime in the near future but have found that based on the prices I was quoted at the recent PBC expo, I would be better off purchasing one from overseas and importing even after customs...

Can you advise where I could find the best price in Aus?

Thanks,

Kate

Hi,

Don't know if everyone here know this yet but I have seen the Quinny 2006 catalogue and it now includes a shopping basket for the buzz.

I ordered one for £12.99 from the Glasgow Pram Centre and I believe it will be available from December 2005.

Hi,

We're considering buying Quinny Buzz before the end of the year. In one of the earlier comments Mike (September 1, 2005 08:09 PM) mentioned that there is a new version of Buzz coming out towards the end of this year. The Quinny website has already been updated with the new Buzz colours and accessories. Does anyone know whether it's only colours and accessories that are changed, or the construction is also improved eliminating some problems people mentioned earlier? Asking because I'm not sure we should wait and get a new (improved?) version, or just get one now and buy shopping basket for it.

Thanks,
Mickey

Can not find the shopping basket for the Buzz on the Glasgow pram centre web site and can not get hold of a Quinny catalogue !!! HELP

Hi, there is a small baby shop just up the road from where I live (in Essex) and they are getting the shopping baskets in. They have ordered 3, and one of them is mine!! I don't think they realised how hard to get they are!! I will be collecting mine this week. Don't think they have a website, but I could get their phone number & you could ring them maybe?

saffron, shopping basket is for sale on glasgow prams website; click on "search page" in the top right corner , and then select "quinny" as a manufacturer (or copy and paste the link below)http://www.glasgowpramcentre.co.uk/shop/search.php?manufacturer_id=18&area_id=clear&s=

also the shopping basket is available on babycare.nl; you search for it the same way (choose Quinny as a manufacturer)or copy and paste the link below.

Hi,
I am from London, UK and just called Dorel, UK about 20 minutes ago before this post. I specifically asked if there are any construction improvements in Quinny Buzz over the previous version or not? I was told that there is no new version for 2006. It's just been released with a shopping bag (or rather a tray) and new colours and that's all. I saw a lady pushing a Quinny Buzz yesterday and the front wheel was squeaking mad and was noisy on pavement. My wife is due end of February 2006 and we are still debating over Quinny Buzz or Bugaboo Cameleon! My wife wants a Quniiy Buzz and I want a Bugaboo Cameleon. I have been researching for the past 3 months now and the only negatives I've read about the Bugaboo are the prices. I've went to John Lewis and checked both the buggies. I just didn't like the wide base of Quinny and it didn't appeal visually to me as much as Bugaboo did. Also I tried the folding and unfolding mechanism on Quinny Buzz and it was easier than Bugaboo Cameleon. But the Bugaboo has better accessories out of which my personal favourite is the Aerosleep mattress. I've also been trying to find the MaxiCosi Cabrio Isofix carseat but no one at John Lewis in Oxford Street had ever heard of it!
Could anyone using Quinny Buzz please post their experience of using it in frosty and wet conditions in UK?

Cheers!

Just a quick comment to thank everyone for the tips about the new shopping basket that is available. Our son is 2 weeks old, and we are in love with our Buzz, but could not believe that there was no basket beneath it. We just ordered one from Babycare.nl -- But beware: Even though the thing only costs 20 Euro, they wanted an additional 45 Euro to ship it to NY! Fortunately, we have a friend in Amsterdam who will accept delivery of it and then send it on to us. I never would have known about the existence of the basket without this thread, so thanks to everyone.

I am another 'soon to be dad' that seems to have send 6 months looking at buggies where ever I go, mothers think I'm nuts checking out there buggies and I have a shelf of catalogues with every buggy ever made, but finally I made a decision (mostly based on my wifes insistence) and ordered a Buzz from Mothercare. Thanks for all the great comments and input on the site and to the staff at mothercare who are very knowledgeable about buggies. Now that I have ordered the buggy I feel empty - what next?

HI,

Just to let everyone know I got the Buzz and the basket has also arrived. If anything the basket is slightly better than I expected which is a bonus.

All I need now is a baby!

In answer to the last poster - the next gadget research is the baby monitor!

Sorry scoobies, been there, done that. Cars Seats - now there's a whole new ball game.

Hi,
Thinking about quinny or bugaboo. Is the seat width and length larger or smaller on the buzz or the bugaboo? Can I use a maxi cosi car seat here in the US? I have a 2 year old and my wife is also due with another in May, is it a waste to switch to the quinny now.

BUZZ QUESTIONS! We have been doing lots of research. Questions with the Buzz which I can't seem to find the answers to anywhere: 1 - Does the Maxi Cosi come with a base and can it be used in Canada/US, 2 - Can you put newborns in the Buzz as it is or do you need the Dreami?

Thanks!

My partner and me recently bought the quinny buzz, FANTASTIC!

Its great, easy to use, we love the way u have the option of the Dreami carrycot and the Maxi cosi seat. The build quality of it is astounding, we spent weeks searching for the perfect travel system, hours of visiting various baby shops, finally came across this and couldnt say no! Not only did it have all the functions that we wanted, but its stylish with it.

Bottom line, Its a great product

I was able to convince my wife to get a Quinny Buzz for our 3rd son coming in May. She was hesitant to get it due to the weight and high shipping costs from Europe. Luckily, we found a California lady on eBay who was selling one that she just flew in from Europe with-- we bid on it and got it for just her cost to buy it locally in Germany! It's great looking, and the automatic unfold feature is really impressive.

Just last week, we saw an eBay listing for the Buzz shopping basket-- someone is selling it in the US for less than $40, plus local shipping. We ordered it and got it yesterday, and it looks better than it does on the Quinny website. Came out a lot cheaper than to order it from babycare. I think she has a few more (search for Quinny basket on eBay). With this basket, we have nothing to complain about on this stroller!

I wanted to post this in reply to Soon-To-Be-Daddy's comment about there being no changes to the 2006 model except the basket and colors... I am in the US, so I can't comment on how it will handle in weather conditions pertaining to the UK, but I have owned three 2005 Quinny Buzzes (I sold the first thinking it would only be two weeks before receiving my new 2005 apple green Buzz, then the color backordered. I purchased my second and was told the day before it arrived from Germany that my '06 would ship within the week, so I sold the German one as well. Three weeks went by and NO ONE could tell me WHEN my stroller would arrive, so I ordered another from ebay.) I never had a problem with the '05s once they were broken in through normal use for of about a week or two. Prior to that, the only problem I had was the buttons were hard to push and the seat made a clicking noise when being reclined or sat up even though the buttons were fully compressed. That said, THERE ARE MULTIPLE CHANGES IN THE 2006!
The person you spoke with at Dorel may have been misinformed or they were confused by the Zapp as it only had color changes. The 2006 has larger, easier to use seat reclining buttons, less resistance in the fold, the front wheel and bearing are different materials, the brake petals are larger and more user friendly, the rims are a shinier grey, the foam on the handlebar is softer and easier on the hands, the height adjustable handle bar has less play in it, and the locking mechanism is COMPLETELY different. (It is like a bungee cord that pulls out with a loop that fits around a nut, instead of a bulky strap) It looks much nicer, but is a bit difficult to use for approximately the first week. IF the UK does NOT have the improved version, you may want to consider importing it from the Netherlands! Also, Quinny makes a very nice carrycot. It is cushy and has a carry handle, which I found to be VERY useful! I hope this helps you with your search!
PS: Quinny now has a parasol available as well! I'm only sad I didn't order one when I perchased my strollers and basket!

I've read a lot of comments tonight about the Buzz box being useless or not fitting alot in it and I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried to fill them yet? I used mine for the mall one night and was amazed at what I could actually get in it. I put a playtex bottle, two diapers and a plastic travel pack of wipes, my organizer wallet, car keys, a large card (with gift cards and money from my daughters' birthday as that was the purpose of the shoppping trip) AND a Stride Rite shoe box and bag all in it and got it within 2-3 inches of zipping. (close enough that I knew nothing would fall out) True, it doesn't do well for medium or large amounts of shopping, but at least it can be easily pushed with one hand. Can you tell I LOVE this stroller? LOL!

Hi all, looking at buying the Buzz, looks like a lot of thumbs up for it. Now they have released the basket all looks good. Those of you still to buy in the UK look at this web site seems to be cheaper then the shops.

They have a showroom and deliver for free in the UK!
Cheers,
Adrian.

I bought an Exdemo buzz from this ebay store. Paid only £180 for it and it still had the labels attatched! Not sure how regular their supply is though.

A shop which ships to Canada and sells such wonderful accessories as the buzz shopping basket and cabrio summer covers, mosquito net and playtoy is ICbaby.com Prompt reply, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. With the buzz coming from the states and the cabrio stuff coming from the UK, all I need now is for my wife to have our baby! lol

The Quinny is coming to the states in May! Yippee!!!!

Hi all, i have the new 2007 model of the buzz and the seat is a huge inprovement on the 06 model, the all weather set is fab, the hight of the hood is now ajustable and rain cover, wind shield and fly net all zip on now so they fit so much better. I find that the quinny zapp is handy for traveling.

I have just started my search for a travel system that does not look like a grocery cart with bags, etc. The Quinny Buzz has just come to the states and it is compatible with the Maxi-Cosi Mico that is also new to the states. I love it and am concidering buying it even thought it is more than I wanted to spend. Here is my problem... The Maxi-Cosi Mico is apparently a version of the Cabrio. They had to make changes for the US market. What I don't know is.... is there a different version of Buzz for the US market? Or is is the same as the one for Europe? If I were to purchase a Buzz from someone in Canada would the adapters work for the US Maxi-Cosi Mico? I have searched but cannot seam to find an answer.

The Buzz that came to the states is the same design as the Euro models. Also, you will be able to use both the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio and the Mico with any of the Quinny stroller models. Just so you know, I have a Buzz bought from the U.S. and I'm using a Cabrio Fix with it right now. Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Sorry for barging in on the dad site. I really like the Buzz. I recently purchased a Peg Perego Pliko 3 and it is nice. Like the rain cover but is too heavy and I hurt my hand every time I fold it. It is lightweight but what I need is a stroller that I can push with one hand since I have a 5 month old and have to walk the 3 year old to school every day and thus have to hold his hand while pushing the stroller.. Everyone says the Buzz is easy to manipulate. Would it be suitable for a soon to be 6 month old? I wanted to get the Zapp but it does not incline and I read that it is very unstable like if an older child leans forward, the whole stroller falls over. Is this true with the Buzz? Or is is more stable? Also is it a good walking stroller? A good daily stroller?

thanks
