Vaccination for Influenza Priority groups, that is.

Now that influenza vaccine stocks have been cut in half in the US this season, the Centers for Disease Control are recommending that only people in certain priority groups get vaccinated. The full list is at the CDC's website. Meanwhile, here are the priority groups that are likely to be checking out this here website:

  • all children aged 6ñ23 months [ok, maybe they're not checking this site personally, but you know what I mean];
  • all women who will be pregnant during the influenza season;
  • children aged 6 monthsñ18 years on chronic aspirin therapy;
  • out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children aged <6 months.

    Infants under 6 months are not vaccinated.
