Whoa, I can't believe it's about to start. As part of the exhibition, Century of The Child, MoMA curator Juliet Kinchin is hosting Child in the City of Play, a symposium exploring urbanism, play, and child development, starting at 1PM EST.
The event is sold out, but you can follow along with the speeches and discussions on the live stream. I definitely will.

image: Richard Dattner's slot-together plywood play elements from his 1967 Adventure Playground on Central Park West, which are not in the show, and which may not be mentioned today, though I'm sure Dattner will be, but which I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to track down and identify from random, undated, unsourced photos, the latest example being this one which has been sitting on my desktop for several months, so its unsourcedness, at least, is really my own damn fault. Anyway, I will make some of these things one day, I swear.
