Suffice it to say that dealing with their knocking off of an indie Portuguese designer's rabbit is close to the bottom of Oilily's urgent to-do list.
From DT's Man In Holland comes the tip that the bankruptcy judge hearing Oilily's case has allowed the stores to reopen. That's right, they were apparently closed as soon as the company's financial troubles hit the court.
Also, the company lost EUR 2.3 million in both 2006 and 2007, and its sales dropped another 11.4% in 2007 to EUR62 million. A small decline and a relatively small loss, which could be turned around in a year or two, perhaps, with expert management and a healthy retail environm--oops.
On the bright side, the company did save money by not paying its employees in March!
