Iroiro is Japanese for various, and you write it using the kanji for color, twice. And though it's not grammatically correct, it makes a nice sound up against the Hiro in Hiromatsu Furniture Company of Ogawa, in Fukuoka.
Who, by the way, make these beautiful little pine blocks, 4cm, which come in natural, unfinished pine or tinted with Livos all-natural, oil-based pigments. The carefully rounded edges were what did it for me. There's no mention of international shipping.
