Title: The Very Busy Spider [amazon link]
Author/Illustrator: Eric Carle
Reviewer: Dina [Check out her full review at High Maintenance Mom]

Dina sees Carle's book as all too true-to-life: "The Spider is a diligent worker in what could be construed as a cubicle with a window."

Title: On The Beach [amazon link]
Author/Illustrator:Alastair Smith, Laura Howell/ Ian Jackson

On The Beach is, as the title suggests, a great introduction to the beach. Each page highlights a different feature with lift up flaps for additional information. The illustrations are welcoming and the font is big enough to read from a distance. The highlight of the book for my son is the seagull on the first page. When you lift up the flap you see the seagull saying, "Squawk! Go away! It's mine!". Although I've heard it said more times than I can count, I still haven't grown tired of the way it make's my son's face light up as he says it.
