For those parents who wish to relive their wildest Lollapalooza memories with their kids, forget it. The van's been sold, the weed's been smoked, the tattoo's been lasered off. Those days are over.
For the rest of you, who are happy just getting out of the house and hear some music, this year's Lollapalooza starts July 23 at Chicago's Grant Park, and goes to...July 24th, also at Chicago's Grant Park. No tour. But The Pixies, The Killers, Weezer, and [hello!] Digable Planets are among the 60 or so bands playing. What's more, kids under 10 are admitted free with a ticket-holding adult, as many as you can carry.
