It looks like it'd work best in a full-on mid-century modern house, but at least it doesn't look like you just pulled it out of the Winnebago.
If you're not going to get an Eames, check out the Nurseryworks Rocker, which comes in various fabrics and microsuedes--which I'm sure are easy to clean.
They're not cheap, but the whole line of Nurseryworks looks pretty well done. The rocker is $750 through Sparkability.
