Labours Of Love And Plywood Floors At Wilton House

wilton_house_trainset_woi.jpg

Sometimes one cannot improve on the copy one is presented with, and so one just runs with it:

Few boys get to play with their model train set surrounded by exquisite hand-painted Chinese wallpaper, but that was the backdrop for William Herbert, 18th Earl of Pembroke - an upstairs room at Wilton House. Constructed three decades ago in a labour of love by the family butler, the railway is soon to be handed on to the next in line, the two-year-old Lord Herbert. Also, plywood. Also, "South West Bedroom".
