So when we went to Los Angeles in the Spring, I tried to meet up with the Yo Gabba Gabba folks, introduce the kid, etc. They were really cool about it, but they were also in the last, frantic stages of editing their Aquabats pilot in time for MIP, the international TV market at Cannes. Instead, we decided to try to find a time for a behind-the-scenes visit when the second season of YGG! started production in the summer.
Well, they're done or close to it; I never managed to get back out there--of course, half the point was taking the kid along, and she didn't get back to LA this summer, either--and now they've gone and let some other blogger and his kids come visit before we did.
OK, not just any blogger; Mike's blog empire at Franklin Avenue is an LA staple. And his kid did recognize Christian Jacobs as an Aquabat, even without the tights. But still, I'm a little shocked that YGG, Wild Brain, Nickelodeon, and Viacom didn't put their promotional plans on hold for me until I could get back to the West Coast. Didn't those key chain accessories mean anything to you?
