In what might be the kickoff of Implausible Scandinavian Jets Week, the 300 Saab 9-3 Turbo X's are clearly generating their desired Halo Effect. Over at Hemmings, Mark calls the 286-hp AWD Audi S4-chaser "wicked-looking and seriously fun-to-drive." and even Jalopnik admits that its world has been gently rocked." Assuming that much fewer than half of the 300 are wagons, this rig could end up rarer than the E63 AMG. Never mind that it runs on baby polar bear fur.

Saab 9-3 Turbo X: First Drive, Again [jalopnik]
I love the 9-3 Sportcombi... the base model is still on my short list but I can't honestly justify the price for a front-wheel drive car. As unattractive as I find the Subaru Legacy Wagon (we still get the non-Outback one here in Canada) I'd have to look at that if I were spending in the mid-$30k range.
