Hmm, Mary Blair Small World, Now In Collectible Tapestry Format

Disneyland Small World Art Tapestry, originally uploaded by Miehana.

And by "now," I of course mean, "in 2005, when it was released as a limited edition of 1,000 for the 50th anniversary of Disneyland."

It's a tribute to Mary Blair's artistic genius that the problems with this 100% cotton tapestry with metallic thread accents are nothing that a pair of tassel shears and a dip into the Understated bin at the curtain rod finial store couldn't fix.

Disney "It's A Small World Tapestry" LE 1000 NIB, $79, but you can buy it now for just $67.15+$23.30 shipping, most of which is for that damn metal stick you're going to throw out anyway [ebay via andy]

I so love this tapestry - I have it hanging in our nursery, above the changing table. My son peers at it while I dress him, and it gives me something to look at when I'm in the rocking chair.

I do admit to not making the aesthetic changes, though - I was excited to hang it up, so I used the pictured birdcage rod and I've been too lazy to swap it out, and those tassels have been mighty useful for diverting a restless baby's attention during diaper changes.
