CPSC Issues Recall For 100,000 Dad-Colored Infantino SlingRiders

infantino_baby_dropper.jpg

There's one less option available for combatting against babywearer manboobs.

The CPSC has announced a recall for about 100,000 Infantino SlingRider baby carriers. Apparently, the plastic strap adjuster can break and drop your kid on his head. Seriously, it's already happened at least ten times.

The SlingRiders affected are black or khaki, prime dad colors, and were sold nationwide at such retailers as Target, Babies R Us, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Burlington Coat Factory. They were made in China.

The new Made In Thailand Infantinos are apparently used by elephants to pull teak logs to market, and are hence unaffected.

See the CSPC site for details on the recall and replacement process.

Thank you for the heads-up on this. A friend of mine (who is himself a new dad) has one of these. I just passed the info along to him.
