Some crazy mom in Erie, Pennsylvania smacked her baby daddy upside the head with her 4-week-old baby, causing a skull fracture and some internal bleeding. On the baby, that is.

...[baby daddy Deangelo] Troop, 20, who also has a 1-year-old son with [Chytoria (ed.: wow)] Graham, 27, told the Erie Times-News on Monday that Graham is very upset about what happened and did not mean to hurt their child.Graham herself called 911. She has three older kids. The whole brood is staying at Grandma's, except the swingin' baby, who was airlifted to Pittsburgh and is in an induced coma at the moment."People are trying to make a big deal about it, but she did not do it on purpose," he said.
"It was just a mistake," he said.

According to the criminal complaint, Graham told police:
She had been out drinking Saturday and early Sunday. When she came home, she began arguing with Troop. The fight escalated to pushing and shoving. Graham then told police she "snapped" and began grabbing and throwing things at Troop.
She turned and grabbed the baby from the bed, where it was wrapped in a blanket.
She then swung the baby and hit Troop.
After Graham put the baby down, Troop punched her in the face and blackened her eye, police said. Her police photo later showed her left eye swollen shut.
Troop was not charged in connection with that injury.

I just got ill reading that. I can only think that there is a point where alcohol can take away even the most basic of mothering instincts. Ick.

That's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read. I say arrest them both... sterilize them so they can have no more children and take the two they have away pronto. Scary!
Just be glad she didnt have twins. She would of tied there legs together and used them as nunchucks

Just when I thought as a former CPS worker I have seen and heard it all, someone reaches a new low in human stupidity. I see that prior to this I had set the bar to high...
Gawd. Whenever you hear stories like that don't you want to just go take those babies home with you so they can get a little peace?
It seems to be getting more and more common... the abuse of children by their own parents. I'm not an ugly person and I HATE violence but I wish a parent would do that in frount of me 'cause I'd be the one in jail for hurting the parent and saying " I don't know what the big deal is I just crushed her skull".
Her eye being swollen shut was a good deed done my the father unless he was the one beating both of them it's not uncommon for a battered woman, to put the blame on herself.
Long story short we need a license to drive a car... there should be some kind of standard to meet before a person is given the opprotunity to raise a child.
