Announcing PopeTypes.com, The Weblog For New Holy Fathers

Actually, I just registered the domain name yesterday, and I haven't even had the time to come up with any new material.

Any one's free to suggest ideas for content--especially if you've recently named your kid Benedict.

Unfortunately, there's only one t-shirt, and someone in Rome just bought it.

Here's what I got so far: Nativity Sets
Hindu Finger Puppets
Other Religious Finger Puppets

Well, we are still awaiting the second coming... maybe a review of what type of gear a baby Jesus born today might need...?

How about funny pictures of people wearing Pope suits?

I may wear mine out to a concert in Mpls tonight.

Wait, scratch that idea. It would be too easy for it to morph into a chickenhawk porno site.

BAck to the drawing board.....

I would imagine it should include links to things like Baby Jesus Crib building:

http://www.pitara.com/activities/craft/60.htm

Or just Jesus Baby Crib decorations:

http://www.catholiccompany.com/product_detail.cfm?ID=1265

And don't get me started on what to with the Pieta...

Ooooo I'm tellin god and you're all gonna geeeet iiiiiit....

eh, I figure He already knows.

A quick Pope joke: A cardinal walks into the Pope's office, "Your Holiness, I have some good news and bad news.
The good news, Jesus is on the phone, and he'd like to speak with you.
The bad news, he's calling from Salt Lake City."

Seeing as celebrity is the new religion, what about the bullet-proof popemobile, the new bugaboo for the Apple and Coco brigade. In yellow and white with family coat of arms on side. Matching pointy hat costs extra of course, as does the bishop's crook/staff thing for beating off paparazzi [excuse me?? -dt]

I think the punchline is:

"The bad news, She's calling from Salt Lake City."

I don't get it, because he's a she or.....or, and hey...what's wrong with SLC?

BebČ jesus would need a burlap onesie.

My guess is the (first) punchline has to do with Mormons.

According to my fave baby names site (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/):
The name Benedict is not among the top 1,000 male names for years 1990-2003
